Michael Kean
General Manager
General Manager Michael Kean brings more than thirty years of experience at both the front and the back of the house. At the restaurant Silks of the five-star Mandarin Oriental Hotel in San Francisco, he was responsible for setting high standards of service and handling all areas of restaurant management. His career began as a pastry chef for notable Bay Area restaurants, including Postrio in San Francisco. At the original Bridges Restaurant in Danville, California, he was promoted from pastry chef to general manager, where he remained for eight years.
Since joining Manresa in 2004, he has focused on providing excellent service as well as overseeing details of business development and special events. Along with Maître d’ Esteban Garibay and Sommelier & Wine Director Jeff Bareilles, his primary goal is to create a memorable experience for each guest. He received a bachelor's degree in performing arts from The United States International University in San Diego, and began his restaurant career after retiring from the entertainment business. He is a native of Southern California and has lived in the Bay Area for more than thirty years. In his spare time, he likes to escape to rural Sonoma County.
